Principle of UV Fluorescence Application
UV fluorescent ink is a light-emitting material, a substance that can emit light. A peculiar feature is that the substance absorbs the energy of solar radiation under sunlight and stores it. In the form of heat, or photochemical reactions, or energy is emitted in the form of visible light. The absorbed radiant energy has a shorter wavelength than the emitted energy. The phenomenon of absorbing light of different colors and then emitting it is called fluorescence. Phosphorescence is the phenomenon of emitting light in a dark environment after absorbing light. The difference between the two is that phosphorescence absorbs natural or artificial light and emits light in a dark environment after the light is removed, while fluorescence can emit light only in the presence of light after absorbing light. Fluorescent inks can also emit light in the presence of "luminous" or violet light. But it doesn't glow in the dark. Fluorescent ink can not only show its own color, but also have the ability to absorb light and change the light intensity, so that the color it shows has stronger light intensity, but the hue (or color) remains unchanged.
Common inks or dyes display color by reflecting light, and each ink color has a different wavelength and output energy, such as red light reflecting red and absorbing other colors. And fluorescent red not only has a partially reflected red, but also converts other colors (green, blue, and violet) into red wavelengths and emits it as red, so the color appears to be radiating from inside the object. It is this luminous property that makes the inks known as fluorescent inks. Printers printing with fluorescent inks can achieve 4 times the brightness and visibility of normal inks. Fluorescent inks appear very bright in dim light, such as at dusk and dawn.
